Edit Project Options dialog overview
Items marked with asterisk (*) are required.

  1. * This control allows entering one or more starting addresses
  2. * Use this control to define Site Type. It is very important control!
  3. * Here you need to type in the title for the project
  4. * Location of root folder for the media files downloaded within this project.
PictureRipper will use it to save found media files and create required subfolders (as specified by "Gallery Folder Names" option. We will go into more detail below).
  5. You may provide maximum depth level value.
You may want to adjust maximum depth level value if you are going to analyze sites of site type other than TGP and TGP(CJ)
  6. Login&Password...
The button you need to press if you have a password for the site from which you are going to download media files. PictureRipper will use these values for HTTP Authentication on the target server. Please note: PictureRipper will not be able to enter password-protected site if that site uses web forms for entering of login information. This feature may be available in next releases if we get decent number of requests for such a feature.
  7. Check the types of media files you want to be downloaded.
If you want to adjust exact media types, you may do it by using Global Options dialog: Tools > Options > Media Types
  8. Gallery folder names
By setting this option you may have PictureRipper to create additional subfolders in the location you provided in (4). There are several choices available:
    • Use gallery counter
PictureRipper will put all images linked from HTML pages into separate folder and name that folder by using pattern "Gallery_NNN", where NNN is a gallery counter value.
    • Use unique gallery name
PictureRipper will use unique string as a name to create folders for images.
    • Obtain gallery name from URL
PictureRipper will use gallery's address as a folder name.
    • Put all images in one folder
PictureRipper will not be creating any sufolders and all found images will be placed in a heap. To prevent images with the same names to be overwritten by each other, evrey image name will be assined an unique integer value in square brackets, e.g. cute[12124].jpg

Moreover, PictureRipper may append current date to the created folders. This is useful when you use PictureRipper with frequently updated websites i.e. thumbnail gallery post sites, subscription based websites with daily/weekly/monthly updates.
  9. Use these controls to enable or disable file filtering features of PictureRipper.
  10. Enter keywords separated by spaces and PictureRipper will not analyze address if it contains any of these words. For example, if you do not want "cats" and "birds" then this may help: cat bird. Please note: PictureRipper will ignore all URLs with these words as well: catalog, category, birdwatcher, etc. The idea of keyword filter is that website dedicated to cats will have word "cat" in its address (URL), e.g. there are two words "cat" in the following address: http://www.cats.org.uk/htm/cool_cats_club.htm

Please note: PictureRipper will not apply this filter to the starting addresses.
