Picture Ripper Registration FAQ

Q: What I get after my order has been verified and processed?

A: Once order is processed, users receive confirmation e-mail messages. The message contains all the information needed to unlock copy of Picture Ripper installed on the user’s computer.
Below is an example of the registration key particular user receives along with confirmation e-mail:

[key begin]
E-Mail: john.doe123@yahoo.net
Pincode: 196A-F474
[key end]

Q: What is a pin code?

A: Pin code along with e-mail address is used to authenticate user’s identity when Picture Ripper downloads and installs license file from the license server.

Q: How do I use the pin code?

A: Please see this page for detailed instructions.

Q: I activated my copy of Picture Ripper a month or so ago, but now it says “Unregistered: 30 days left”. Why did it revert to the trial mode?

A: When user activates copy of Picture Ripper for the first time, the license server installs temporary license. The temporary license expires after 50 days and Picture Ripper reverts to the trial mode. To get permanent key, user should activate the copy once again. If the payment has been stopped or reverted, the pin code will not function and the license server will refuse to install the permanent code. This system allows us to prevent fraudsters from stealing licenses with stolen credit cards and posting Picture Ripper serials on various forums.

Q: How many times can I “activate” my copy of Picture Ripper?

A: Once you have a valid pin code you can activate up to 6 (six) times in any given 30 day period. This means that you may change computer’s hardware as often as you like. If the 30 day quote has been excided, the support representative will review your account and send license file to you via e-mail free of charge.

Q: I need more than 6 activations in a 30 day period! How can I use my copy if I need it?

A: The default number of unattended activations is set to 6. If you believe this is too small for your particular needs, please contact us and we will override the default setting for you free of charge.

Q: I do not want Picture Ripper to connect to the secure license server. Can I still activate Picture Ripper via e-mail?

A: Sure you can, just send us an e-mail and provide us your order e-mail address and the pin code. Although it will place additional load on our support staff, we will send you instructions and the license file by e-mail in 48 hour time frame, but usually it takes less than 12 hours for us to respond.

Q: What if your company goes out of business? Does it mean that I wasted my money?

A: No, it does not of course! If we decide to cease operation we will issue permanent, non expiring keys to every customer in our growing database. These keys will not be bound to computer hardware and therefore activation will not be required any more.

Q: What information is transferred to the license server during the activation?

A: The only information sent to the secure license server is the user's e-mail address and an activation code. The activation code consists of the user's pin code and computer's hardware checksum code. No other information is sent. To protect consumer's privacy and to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks aimed to the e-mail address and pin code, Picture Ripper connects to the license server using 128bit SSL connection.

Q: Why the activation after all?

A: We want to spend our time and resources on developing quality software and provide premium support for paying customers. At the same time we do not want to spend our time providing services to the piracy market.

Please feel free to send your questions and suggestions. We are just one e-mail message away!
